Street lighting imposes particularly high demands on the dependability and durability of the components used. High failure rates mean shorter replacement cycles for lamps and control gear.

OSRAM has launched a robust and intelligent electronic control gear onto the market that points the way to the future of outdoor lighting. The new POWERTRONIC® PTo DALI 70 DIM allows for the dimming of luminaires and features a long service life leading to longer replacement cycles and reduced maintenance costs. Combining robust engineering with innovative control, this product offers enormous potential for the future of intelligent street lighting.

OSRAM has developed this highly robust device which ensures that lamps last longer. The dimming capability also means that between 30-40% of the energy used for street lighting can be saved by reducing the light output during off-peak periods leading to lower energy bills.

The DALI-interface not only allows for dimming, but also bidirectional data exchange. This means that any faults with the lamp are communicated to a central control point allowing for easier maintenance. Suitable for fixtures in protection class I and II, the PTo DALI 70 DIM can be used to operate 70W HCI®, NAV® and HQI® lamps extremely efficiently.
